Luke's
Garden
We are St. Luke’s family and friends dedicated to supporting, building, and protecting LGBTQ+ community in the Greater Portland area.
All are welcome.
We offer a non-judgmental space to discuss and celebrate how religion and queerness interact in our daily lives. All religions, ages, and identities welcome. We are a group dedicated to understanding the intersection between our spiritual lives and sexual or gender identities.

Luke's Garden began in May of 2023, and now has around 30 members. The group has presented educational slideshows about the basics of gender and sexual identities, along with some of the history of prominent people, places, and symbols in the LGBTQ+ community.

In the coming years Luke’s Garden looks to expand their presence and opportunities for education and activism throughout Greater Portland. It is their hope this will be accomplished through getting in contact with other LGBTQ+ groups in the area, advertising through the Diocese as well as through local media, and reaching out to guest speakers and LGBTQ+ educators to assist us in teaching group members about their unique stories.
